Hydraulic Machine

In my engineering class we had the task to create a lift design using VEX & syringes. I worked in a group of three. We decided to make an elevator. During this project we had struggled with making the elevator advanced enough, so we decided to make a model of an elevator which transported cargo instead of people. Overall this project was fun and I enjoyed learning how hydraulics work.

Marble Sorter

In my engineering class, we had to create a machine which would sort 3 types of balls into various bins. Our design constraints included...

  1. Separation process must be fully automated.

  2. Must successfully separate commingled recyclable materials into individual holding bins.

  3. Recyclable materials include 3 different ½-in. material spheres totaling 15. Examples could include steel, aluminum, wood, opaque plastic, and clear plastic.

  4. Must be efficient:2 minute max for completion of sorting process.

Ropes Course

For our Project Lead The Way (our engineering class) we had to design a ropes course for Butler State Park in Carrollton, Kentucky. In our team we have three teammates from Kentucky and three from Minnesota. We used Autodesk Inventor to design our parts and to assemble our final assembly. If you want to learn more about my project, feel free to visit my website.

These projects include TSA, KUNA, and STLP.

Board Game Design

My team had to chose a topic based on marine biology and demonstrate understanding of it through documented research, the development of a solution, a display, including a model or prototype, and an effective multimedia presentation. My team chose to dead zones and created many different solutions that we believe that could help stop the growth of dead zones. For this project it was my responsibility to make a video and help make the PowerPoint. We won first place with our project.

My team and I had to develop, build, and package a board game that focused on the subject of our choice. We designed the packaging, instructions, pieces, and cards. The objective of out game was to beat your opponents by being able to answer the most STEM questions correctly. If you played the game correctly you would win by going around the board once. We wanted to make a game that could help teach students about STEM . Our trivia questions include science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The questions range from middle school to high school level.

On-Demand Video

My team and I had to write, shoot, and edit a sixty (60)-second video during the conference on-site. The required props included a watch, pencil, and  and a line of dialogue, make the competition more challenging and will be revealed at the event orientation meeting.

KUNA 2018-19

The Kentucky United Nations Assembly is a way to experience the richness of cultures from around the world and critical thinking skills while engaging with a wide variety of perspectives and global issues. My group was in charge of educating those about Denmark. I worked with native attire, sign and global village. At the confess Denmark won the sign and iLEAD won the global village award.

STLP 2018-19

The Student Technology Leadership Program gave me the opportunity to compete in a showcase project. My group and I decided to help iLEAD and run the Maker Fair. The Maker Fair is where iLEAD students use their creative skills to create and sell their products. We initially made a website but it was disapproved because it was seen as students handling money. So I made a spreadsheet that enabled us to scan tags with an app that allowed us to scan QR codes and it placed it into Google Sheets. I used the formula VLOOKUP that allowed the price to show up once added to the spreadsheet. This allowed us to keep track of all the products sold and how much profit each person made.  We qualified for STLP state with our showcase project.

Informatics and other technology projects.

Affordable Signs Website

In my Informatics class we reached a small business in Henry County and made a potential website for them to use to expand their business. We are currently working with them to hopefully get it launched. Overall this project was one of my favorites and helped me learn a lot.

Letter and Number Game

In informatics we were ask to contact a teacher and ask what their class struggled with. My client was Mrs.Johnson her class struggles with patterns, sorting, and number/letter recognition.  The solution I came up was a game made on scratch. It is still a work in progress, but will be in use in her classroom after Christmas break.

Tableau

In my informatics class we had to take real estate data and  import it into tableau to make tables and graphs to make the data visual. We Tableau which is a powerful data visualization tool used in the Business Intelligence Industry. It helps in simplifying raw data into the very easily understandable format. Data analysis is very fast with Tableau and the visualizations created are in the form of dashboards and worksheets.

Passion Project

In English 10 class we were tasked with making a project on whatever we wanted. For my English project I wanted to help families who couldn't afford their kids to play soccer.  To make a difference I am starting a donation program where people donate gently used soccer equipment which will be donated to the families who can't afford their children to play. I am hoping that this will bring the community together by bringing more kids into the Henry County Youth Soccer.

Evolution Project

For, our biology class we were asked to chose an animal and research the evolution of the animal you chose. At the end of the project we had to make a power point  present and we also had to build something that could teach others about turtle evolution. My partner Hailey Lyons and I chose to make a board game, the objective of this game is to get to the end before your opponent by answering trivia questions about turtles ancestor, evolution, natural selection and current day turtles. Overall, I really enjoyed this project. If you would like to see what our outcome was click on the link to see the PowerPoint.

Data Project

In my Algebra II class we had to do a project in which we collected real life data from a survey we made. I decided to make my survey about what people wanted to bring into their counties. We had to make conclusions and present it in an infographic.
